Innovation & Sustainable Landscaping
A professionally installed paver driveway or patio transforms the exterior of any New York City property — adding curb appeal, increasing property value, and providing a durable surface that outperforms concrete and asphalt for decades. Singh Landscaping's masonry crews install paver hardscaping throughout all five NYC boroughs, working with every property type from Queens Village row houses to Staten Island suburban homes to Brooklyn brownstones.
A paver driveway is one of the highest-return investments for NYC homeowners. Properly installed with adequate base preparation, it handles freeze-thaw cycles, heavy vehicle traffic, and decades of use without cracking the way poured concrete does. We install concrete paver and natural stone driveways throughout Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, the Bronx, and Manhattan — handling grading, base compaction, drainage planning, and border details.
Transform an unused NYC backyard into a functional outdoor living space. Singh Landscaping designs and installs paver patios in every size and configuration — small urban garden patios in Brooklyn, large entertaining spaces in Staten Island, and courtyard installations in Manhattan co-op buildings. We work with concrete pavers, bluestone, travertine, and natural fieldstone.
Front walkways, side paths, garden stepping-stone paths, entrance steps, and landing areas — all installed with the same precision and quality base preparation as our driveways. A well-designed walkway improves both curb appeal and accessibility for any NYC property.
Clean borders and edging details define the quality of any hardscape installation. Singh Landscaping installs soldier-course borders, soldier-and-sailor borders, contrasting inlay patterns, and custom edge treatments that give finished paver work a polished, professional appearance.
Paver installation in New York City typically ranges from $15–$30+ per square foot depending on the paver material (concrete, bluestone, travertine, natural stone), site preparation required, and project complexity. A standard Staten Island paver driveway will cost more than a small Brooklyn backyard patio due to size and base preparation. Call (718) 740-3068 for a free on-site estimate.
Both — properly installed pavers require a compacted gravel base (typically 4–6 inches of crushed stone) topped with a 1-inch sand setting bed. The gravel base provides drainage and structural support; the sand layer allows for leveling and slight flex. Skipping the gravel base is the most common cause of paver settling and failure in NYC's freeze-thaw climate.
Quality pavers installed with a proper base last 25–50+ years. Concrete pavers typically carry 25-year manufacturer warranties; natural stone pavers can last a lifetime. The base preparation matters as much as the paver itself — which is why Singh Landscaping never shortcuts the compaction and drainage layer.
The main disadvantages are upfront cost (higher than poured concrete) and occasional need to reset individual pavers if the base shifts. The good news: unlike cracked concrete, individual pavers can be removed and reset without replacing the entire surface — making repairs far simpler and cheaper over the long term.
No. Pavers are low-maintenance. Annual joint sand replenishment and occasional sealing (every 3–5 years) keep them looking sharp and prevent weed growth in joints. Compared to asphalt (which needs resealing every 2–3 years) or concrete (which cracks and can't be patched cleanly), pavers are the lowest-maintenance hard surface option.
